Driver Privacy Statement (Australia)

HOP collects information about you when you use our mobile applications, websites, and other online products and services (collectively, the “Services”), and through other interactions and communications you have with us.
For persons residing in Australia, the Services are provided by HOP Technologies Pty Ltd (“HOP”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Statement applies to information collected and used by HOP in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. Scope and Application
This Statement applies to drivers, couriers, partner transportation companies, and any other persons that use the HOP platform under license (collectively “Drivers,” or individually “you”) and reside in Australia.
This Statement does not apply to:
- Drivers residing outside Australia
- Users who access the Services to request transportation or delivery services (“Users”)
If you interact with the Services as both a Driver and a User, separate privacy policies apply to each interaction.
2. Collection of Information
Information You Provide to Us
We collect information you provide directly, including:
- Name, email address, phone number
- Postal address and profile photo
- Payment and banking details
- Driver’s licence and identification documents
- Vehicle registration and insurance details
- Background check information (where required)
- Any communications or support requests
Information We Collect Through Use of Services
Location Information
We collect precise and approximate location data when the app is active.
Contacts Information
With permission, we may access contact data to support platform features.
Transaction Information
Includes trip data, service type, time, distance, and payments.
Usage & Preference Data
Includes app interactions, preferences, and settings.
Device Information
Includes device type, OS, identifiers, and network details.
Call & SMS Data
Includes metadata (time, numbers, message content where applicable).
Log Information
Includes IP address, access times, crash logs, and usage behaviour.
Aggregated Data
We may use anonymised or aggregated data for analytics and improvement. This data does not identify you.
Sensitive Information
We do not collect sensitive personal data (e.g. religion, health, political views), except:
- Driving offences or criminal history where required for onboarding
- Only collected with your consent and lawful basis
Children
Our Services are not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect children's data.
Platform Permissions
Mobile platforms require your consent for data access:
- iOS: prompts at runtime
- Android: permissions granted upon installation/use
Information from Third Parties
We may receive information from:

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the app or email. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of updates.

Where we require personal data to provide Services and you do not supply it, we may be unable to perform our obligations, and services may be limited or terminated.

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for:
- Service delivery
